Unexpected

Standard

The trees before me

Wave an acknowledging hello

As the wind escorts the clouds

All blue and gray

Over the mountain peak.

And unexpected joy

Seeps into my skin as

A deer wanders near my seat and stops to stare.

An ant wanders onto my foot.

I know he is lost

For I have nothing to

Offer him.

Back to the dirt he returns.

Succumb

Standard

Fingers

Find their way through Hair

To brow

To

Brush jaw,

Reading fine texture of your skin.

As lips meet,

A rise from within.

Embracing a surge from the

Divine.

All that was

Suppressed

Unbridled now

Blending the tangible

And unseen.

Succumb becoming the waves.

Another Wave

Standard

You hold yourself steady

As another wave rolls in.

Which is most frightening

When you feel it begin,

Knowing what lies between or what is at the end?

Invisible slips and invisible falls.

The faceless voices who taunt;

 And from shadows

Call.

Going from gladness

(In deeper)

To sadness

(In deeper)

To madness

(In deeper)

To the darkness within.

The flesh feels alive and well

While the mind makes itself a home in

An unseen hell.
